Some volunteers drive to the bus station to see if any migrant in transit arrives so he can be driven to the Red Cross shelter. Irun (Basque Country). December 23, 2018. As the number of migrants arriving on the coasts of southern Spain increased, more and more migrants are heading north to the border city of Irun. A group of volunteers has created a host network to serve migrants and inform them about the public services they are entitled to and the ways to cross the border. This group of volunteers is avoiding a severe humanitarian problem in Irun, the Basque municipality on the border with Hendaye. (Gari Garaialde / Bostok Photo).
