Irun (Basque Country). July 7, 2023. The mayors of the border cities of Irun and Hendaye called a meeting asking the opening of the pedestrian bridge. In January 2021, prefecture of the the Pyrénées-Atlantiques ordered the closure of eight border crossings, including the Avenida pedestrian bridge between Irun and Hendaye.
